PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia, with iProperty, honors 11th edition’s varied successes

Malaysia’s real estate sector reached new heights as industry leaders gathered at The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur for the 11th PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia. The event, held in collaboration with iProperty, honored outstanding achievements across 58 categories, spotlighting innovation in sustainable development, architectural excellence, and community-focused projects. With rigorous judging by an independent panel of experts, the awards highlighted the evolving priorities of Malaysia’s property market, where environmental responsibility and social impact now drive progress.

AME Development Sdn Bhd emerged as a standout winner, securing multiple accolades including Best Developer (Malaysia), Best Industrial Developer, and Best Sustainable Developer. Other notable recipients included Malton Berhad, recognized for its Central Malaysia developments, and Berinda Group, which claimed the title for Southern Malaysia. The introduction of ESG-focused awards underscored the industry’s shift toward sustainability, with Iskandar Investment Berhad and Tanah Sutera Development Sdn. Bhd. celebrated for their low-carbon and social impact initiatives.

Residential and commercial projects also took center stage, with TRX Residences by Lendlease & TRX City Sdn Bhd winning Best High-Rise Development (Malaysia) and Sime Darby Property Berhad earning praise for its landed developments. The People’s Choice Awards, determined by public voting, honored ten companies, including Mah Sing Group Berhad and Tropicana Corporation Berhad, reflecting consumer trust in their offerings. Dato’ Tengku Ab. Aziz Tengku Mahmud was named Malaysia Real Estate Personality of the Year, acknowledging his contributions to the sector.

Industry leaders emphasized the awards’ role in shaping Malaysia’s property landscape. Jeremy Williams of PropertyGuru Group praised developers for creating spaces that balance economic growth with environmental stewardship, while Kenneth Soh highlighted the winners’ ability to meet diverse market demands. Datuk Ar. Ezumi Harzani Ismail, chairperson of the judging panel, noted how these achievements are redefining accessibility and innovation in real estate.
