Malaysia is set to pioneer next-generation smart property developments through a groundbreaking partnership between Cisco and Malaysian Resources Corp. Berhad (MRCB). The collaboration, unveiled at the launch of Cisco’s mobile technology showcase, Express-Network on Wheels (NoW), aims to integrate cutting-edge digital infrastructure into MRCB’s upcoming real estate projects, transforming them into intelligent urban hubs.

The initiative will leverage Cisco’s Connected Real Estate (CRE) solution, a unified IP-based platform that seamlessly merges IT, security, automation, and building management systems. This innovation allows centralized control of multiple building functions, reducing operational costs while enhancing efficiency. MRCB’s KL Sentral development, spanning 2.8 million square feet of mixed-use space, will be the first to adopt the technology, followed by the expansive Penang Sentral project.

During the event, industry leaders highlighted the strategic significance of the partnership. Shahril Ridza Ridzuan of MRCB emphasized how the CRE system would optimize building performance and extend asset lifespans. Cisco’s Kumaran Singaram added that the collaboration would establish Malaysia’s largest intelligent real estate centers, reinforcing connectivity as a critical utility alongside electricity and water.

To demonstrate the potential of these technologies, Cisco’s Express-NoW mobile showcase will tour Malaysia for six weeks, featuring over $1 million worth of solutions from global and local partners. The exhibit aims to educate businesses and individuals on the transformative power of integrated smart systems.
