Malaysia’s real estate sector celebrated its brightest stars at the third annual Malaysia Developer Awards (MDA), an event that highlighted innovation, sustainability, and excellence in property development. Held at a prominent Kuala Lumpur venue, the ceremony brought together industry leaders to honor top-performing developers across multiple categories, reinforcing the sector’s commitment to quality and forward-thinking design.
Sime Darby Property Bhd emerged as a standout winner, securing the top position in the prestigious Top-of-the-Chart (TOTC) RM1 billion and Above category. Close contenders included SP Setia Bhd, Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB), and IOI Properties Group Bhd, showcasing the competitive landscape of Malaysia’s property market. Meanwhile, Paramount Corp Bhd dominated the TOTC Below RM1 billion segment, sweeping both the Best in Quantitative and Qualitative awards—a rare double achievement that underscored its financial strength and project execution.
Beyond the main categories, the Special Awards recognized trailblazers making unique contributions to the industry. KEB Group of Companies, TA Global Bhd, and WM Senibong Sdn Bhd were celebrated as rising stars, while MRCB Land Sdn Bhd earned the International Award for its 1060 Carnegie development in Australia. The Transformation Award went to WCT Land Sdn Bhd and WM Senibong Sdn Bhd for their Paradigm Johor Baru and Senibong Cove projects, respectively, highlighting their ability to adapt to evolving market demands.
Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming graced the event as guest of honor, emphasizing the growing importance of sustainable development. FIABCI Malaysia president Dr. Yu Kee Su echoed this sentiment, noting how developers are shaping resilient urban spaces that align with global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards. The MDA, a collaboration between FIABCI Malaysia and Star Media Group, continues to set benchmarks for excellence, proving that Malaysia’s property sector is not just building homes—it’s crafting the future.
