Johor Bahru’s real estate landscape is set for a major transformation as two prominent developers join forces for a game-changing project. Sunway Property and Majestic Gen have commenced work on their RM4 billion integrated development in Yahya Awal, marking a significant milestone in the city’s urban evolution.

The 15.5-acre development will combine serviced apartments with retail offerings, catering to modern urban lifestyles. Scheduled for launch in Q3 2025, the first phase will introduce more than 1,000 SOHO units, strategically positioned near key transport hubs including the CIQ Complex and the future RTS Link. This prime location is expected to draw strong interest from both Malaysian and Singaporean investors.

Sunway Property’s leadership emphasized the project’s role in elevating Johor Bahru’s economic profile. Managing Director Gerard Soosay highlighted the development as a benchmark for integrated urban living, aligning with the company’s vision of creating long-term value. The Yahya Awal venture complements Sunway’s broader expansion in Johor, including its RM2.6 billion TOD project in Bukit Chagar, reinforcing confidence in the state’s growth potential.

Majestic Gen’s executives also expressed enthusiasm, calling this partnership a defining moment for their company. Executive Director Ta Wee Dher noted it as their first collaboration with Sunway and one of their most ambitious undertakings. With Johor Bahru emerging as a regional economic hub, this development is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the city’s future as an international gateway.
