Malaysia’s digital infrastructure landscape is set for a major boost as Sime Darby Property Berhad inks a landmark deal with Pearl Computing Malaysia to develop cutting-edge data center facilities. The strategic partnership will expand the tech ecosystem at Elmina Business Park, reinforcing Selangor’s position as the nation’s premier digital hub.

The new facilities will occupy a 77-acre plot adjacent to Pearl Computing’s existing data center project, currently slated for completion in 2026. Designed to meet stringent technical specifications, these state-of-the-art facilities will enhance the industrial township’s appeal to global tech firms. Elmina Business Park’s strategic location and robust infrastructure have already made it a magnet for technology-driven enterprises.

Under the agreement, construction is expected to wrap up by 2027, followed by a 20-year lease worth up to MYR 5.6 billion. The deal includes renewal options, ensuring long-term revenue stability for Sime Darby Property. This move aligns with the company’s SHIFT25 strategy, which focuses on growing recurring income and expanding its investment portfolio in high-value assets.

Azmir Merican, Group Managing Director of Sime Darby Property, emphasized that this collaboration underscores the company’s capability to deliver mission-critical digital infrastructure. “These data centers will not only support Malaysia’s digital economy but also elevate Selangor’s status as a preferred destination for global tech investments,” he noted. The project follows an earlier data center venture announced in May, marking the company’s successful foray into this high-growth sector.
