Malaysia’s real estate sector is gearing up for a landmark celebration as the PropertyGuru Asia Awards returns for its 12th edition in 2025, introducing an expanded lineup of accolades to honor excellence in property development and design. The prestigious awards, held in partnership with iProperty, will feature 132 categories—marking the most comprehensive recognition program in its history. With key events scheduled throughout the year, including public voting and live judging, the initiative aims to elevate industry standards while showcasing Malaysia’s finest projects on both national and regional stages.
The 2025 awards will debut several new categories, spotlighting achievements in ultra-luxury, mid-range, and region-specific developments across Malaysia. Highlights include honors for best oceanview properties, heritage-inspired designs, and sustainable commercial projects. Additionally, six new design awards will celebrate architectural and interior excellence, reinforcing the program’s commitment to innovation. These expansions build on the success of last year’s ESG Developer Awards, which will return to acknowledge leaders in sustainable development.
A distinguished panel of 14 industry experts, chaired by Datuk Ar. Ezumi Harzani Ismail, will oversee the rigorous judging process in July 2025. The selection will be audited by HLB Ler Lum Chew to ensure transparency. Meanwhile, the People’s Choice Awards in June will give the public a voice, allowing voters to weigh in on developers based on reputation and project quality. Winners will be unveiled at an October gala in Kuala Lumpur before advancing to the Asia Property Awards Grand Final in Bangkok, where they’ll compete against top developers from across the Asia-Pacific region.
Malaysia’s property market continues to gain momentum, with past winners like Sime Darby Property and Tropicana Corporation setting benchmarks for excellence. The awards not only foster healthy competition but also guide consumers toward high-quality, aspirational living spaces. As the industry evolves, events like these play a pivotal role in shaping the future of real estate—both locally and beyond.
