Malaysia’s real estate industry is set to celebrate its finest achievements with an expanded lineup at the 2025 PropertyGuru Asia Awards. The prestigious event, now in its 12th edition, will introduce 23 new categories, elevating the total to 132, as developers and designers compete for recognition across residential, commercial, and sustainability-focused projects. Scheduled for October 9 at The St Regis Kuala Lumpur, the awards will culminate in the regional finals in Bangkok this December.

The new categories reflect evolving market trends, with nine dedicated to landed and high-rise developments in Central, Northern, and Southern Malaysia, spanning ultra-luxury to mid-end segments. Residential projects will compete in seven fresh divisions, including Best Townhouse and Heritage Developments, while commercial ventures vie for accolades in Lifestyle Commercial and Nature Integrated Development. Additionally, six design-focused awards will honor architectural and interior excellence, from landscape design to retail interiors.

Sustainability remains a key theme, with the return of the ESG Developer Awards, spotlighting five leaders in environmental, social, and governance initiatives. According to PropertyGuru, this expansion underscores the industry’s commitment to sustainable progress. Datuk Ezumi Harzani Ismail, chair of the judging panel, noted that past winners have raised standards in Malaysia’s property sector, fostering innovation and adaptability.

A diverse panel of 14 experts, spanning fields like town planning and architecture, will assess entries during Live Judging Days in July 2025. The awards not only set benchmarks but also encourage collaboration, driving the industry toward higher-quality development. With its growing scope, the event continues to shape Malaysia’s real estate landscape, celebrating excellence while pushing for a greener, more competitive future.
