The memorandum of understanding signed between the two entities underscores Tropicana\u2019s dedication to reducing its environmental impact while meeting Malaysia\u2019s carbon neutrality goals by 2050. Seventeen of the company\u2019s developments have already received GreenRE certification, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in sustainable community building.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration will see Tropicana leveraging GreenRE\u2019s expertise to ensure future projects meet stringent environmental standards. Two upcoming developments\u2014Avisa Residences in Puncak Alam and Twin Pines serviced suites in Genting Highlands\u2014have already secured provisional GreenRE awards, pending final certification upon completion. This move aligns with the company\u2019s broader ESG commitments, encouraging homebuyers to adopt greener lifestyles and minimize their carbon footprint.<\/p>\n<p>GreenRE\u2019s executive director, Ashwin Thurairajah, emphasized the partnership\u2019s role in advancing sustainable construction in Malaysia. With over 700 projects registered for certification\u2014400 of which have been approved\u2014the organization is making steady progress in promoting eco-conscious development. However, Ashwin noted that less than 1% of Malaysia\u2019s 15 billion square feet of built space currently holds green certification, highlighting the need for continued industry-wide efforts.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative also extends beyond Malaysia, with GreenRE certifying international projects like London\u2019s Battersea Power Station retail mall and Cambodia\u2019s AEON Mall Mean Chey. As Tropicana and GreenRE work toward a shared vision, their partnership serves as a model for sustainable urban development, setting a benchmark for the real estate sector.
